What was the decisive factor in taking up your position at the HSG?
I’m a genuine HSG fan. To me, the University provides a unique combination of close cooperation with practice, high-quality international research and very good teaching. I regard this as a particularly attractive combination.
How have you experienced your integration into the HSG?
I experience the HSG as highly integrating on account of its culture and its interesting people – at the time when I joined the University as much as now. I find it easy to get to know people, to approach people; and very many people and impulses come my way – a great community.
How do you experience the HSG today?
I find the HSG very, very dynamic.
What do you like about your job?
Most things. I like being a professor, and my field, leadership, fascinates me. I enjoy the diversity of my activities – research, teaching, and working with companies. And I find cooperation with my team, with students, colleagues and practitioners great fun.

Head of Finance
What was the decisive factor in taking up your position at the HSG?
I found a challenging job in an international environment and with a highly reputable employer here in Eastern Switzerland.
How have you experienced your integration into the HSG?
Since my team and my boss showed me the ropes, I was able to integrate myself quickly and well. It took me some time, though, to get to grips with the HSG’s decentralised structure and with the way it works.
How do you experience the HSG today?
The HSG remains an interesting employer for me. I work with many exciting people, and we share a common goal, namely to make sure that the HSG is recognised worldwide as a leading business university. This also requires a contribution on the part of the Administration.
What do you like about your job?
The HSG endeavours to grant its organisational units as high a degree of autonomy as possible. This doesn’t always make things easy for the Administration but leads to active entrepreneurship inside the University. I’ve learnt to appreciate this challenge.

Title, function:
Bachelor in Information Science FH
Library Borrowing / Workstation
What was the decisive factor in taking up your position at the HSG?
I was aware of the HSG Library as an innovative and committed library, and the lecturers involved in undergraduate teaching at HTW Chur confirmed this impression. During my studies, the Library was often mentioned as a positive example, among other things because of the introduction to the Library during the HSG Freshman Week.
How have you experienced your integration into the HSG?
I was able to experience an intensive but exciting induction period. Thanks to a well-thought-out induction plan, I was not only introduced to my own fields of activities but also gained an insight into the various areas of the Library and so got to know my colleagues. Since I’m a member of Emergency Team 2, but also because of staff events, particularly of Unisport, I also had an opportunity to get to know colleagues from other departments. This didn’t only help me extend my network but also taught me more about the tasks and challenges of other departments, which is of great practical value for my everyday working life.
How do you experience the HSG today?
I experience the HSG as a vigorous, lively and "customer-oriented" institution. Besides the high service standard which we are able to provide, I like the wide and innovative range of events and services. After the quiet months of the summer break, I always look forward to the beginning of the semester, when the campus comes alive and the corridors "pulsate" with life again.
